- A passenger may return his or her e-ticket at a booking office on the territory of the Russian Federation which provides ticket return. To that effect, you must show a control coupon or e-ticket/order number and ID specified therein.
- An international e-ticket is refundable only at international booking offices.
- An unused commuter train e-ticket may be refunded at a carrier's booking office which belongs to departure or arrival railway.
- E-tickets for the Sapsan trains issued under the special "round-trip" fare is refunded only if out- and inbound tickets are presented. In order to get a refund, you need to go to a ticket office where you will get a seat return confirmation. This document, together with a written refund application, must be personally (or via postal service) submitted to the RZD Board of High-Speed Communications located at 40/12 Nizhnyaya Krasnoselskaya St., Bldg. 11, Moscow 105066, Russia. A 10% fare reduction for the outbound trip is subtracted from the amount refundable.
- At the booking offices on the territory of the CIS, Republic of Latvia, Republic of Lithuania, and Republic of Estonia, an e-ticket is refunded by presenting a boarding pass. Thus seats but not funds are returned. To get a refund, you need to go to a booking office on the territory of the Russian Federation within 6 months of train's departure and show the seat return confirmation form, non-used boarding pass, and passenger's ID.
- At the booking offices on the territory of European countries, an e-ticket is returned only on the presentation of a travel document. The travel document is marked with the "unused" statement, full date and time (hours and minutes) of passenger's application. In order to receive a refund for the non-used travel document, you need go to an international booking office on the territory of the Russian Federation within a month of trains departure, printed in the travel document, submit your application and unused travel document with a corresponding mark. The passenger's application is considered within 180 days of reception.
